Who we are
saymd is operated by Viktor Kondás / Vibe Coder's Life, a Hungarian sole trader (egyéni vállalkozó), operating under the Hungarian subject-based tax exemption (alanyi adómentes). Contact: support@saymd.app.
What saymd is
The saymd CLI runs on your computer. Speech audio is sent to the speech-to-text provider you chose — Google Gemini, OpenAI, Deepgram, or ElevenLabs — using your own API key (BYOK). We do not host speech-to-text or sell transcription credits. The saymd.app website handles Pro subscriptions and license delivery.
CLI — what we do not collect
- No telemetry or analytics in the CLI.
- We do not receive your audio, transcripts, or prompt files from the CLI.
- Your API keys are stored locally in
~/.saymd/config.jsonon your machine. - Temporary local audio is deleted after a successful Markdown write. On API failure, the CLI keeps the file and prints a retry path.
Each provider's handling of audio you send with your own key is governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.
Website and purchases
When you buy saymd Pro, we process data needed to complete the transaction:
- Name, email, billing address, tax ID (if provided) — via Stripe Checkout.
- Payment status, subscription plan, Stripe customer and session IDs.
- A 24-character activation code and signed license issued after successful payment (shown on the success page; stored in our database).
- Delivery of the private
@saymd/propackage to your machine when you runsaymd activate(download gated by a valid activation code).
Full card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by saymd. After purchase you can manage card, invoices, and cancellation in the Stripe Customer Portal (Manage subscription) — there is no saymd account or login.
Service providers
- Stripe — payments, subscriptions, receipts.
- Neon — database for customers, licenses, and subscription status.
- Vercel — website hosting and serverless API routes.
- Google (Gemini) — when you use Gemini as your STT or structuring provider (your key).
- OpenAI — when you use OpenAI as your STT or structuring provider (your key).
- Deepgram — when you use Deepgram as your STT provider (your key).
- ElevenLabs — when you use ElevenLabs as your STT provider (your key).
The website does not use advertising cookies or a marketing email product. Essential hosting logs may be kept for security and debugging.
Support email
If you email support@saymd.app, we process your message and email address to respond, including lookups for lost activation codes by purchase email.
Retention
Purchase, activation-code, and license records are kept for the period required by Hungarian accounting and tax law. Support correspondence is kept as long as reasonably needed to handle requests and related business records.
Your rights (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You may complain to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) or your local authority. Contact support@saymd.app to exercise your rights.
